Pattern and perception about vocal use and misuse among young adult in Pakistan

Background: The human voice is a prominent feature and the most susceptible to environmental changes, lifestyle, age. Voice problems tend be significantly under-reported consequently less likely clinically treated. It yet established if cause lies in lack of awareness or impermanent nature disorders. Objective: To evaluate patterns perceptions about vocal use misuse among young adults Pakistan. Method: study used cross-sectional survey design. A convenient sampling technique was employed collect data from n=242 healthy aged 18-25 years studying colleges universities Rawalpindi Islamabad. 32-item questionnaire titled “patterns Perceptions Misuse” employed, with portion for demographic five sections dedicated general awareness, self-perception voice, habits misuse. Results: results regarding perception reflects that 88.3% participants agreed precautionary measure would help them avoid disorder. In contrast, 83.3% reported screaming yelling as part their pattern. Participants showed strong association positive attributes related such beautiful 82.2% pleasant. Conclusion: concluded outcome participants’ behavior were atypical. Screaming smoking frequently response by but on other hand, they did not seek professional perceive unpleasant voice.
